StatusReach — Content Policy
DRAFT — pending review by a Kenyan lawyer. Not for publication. Version 0.1 · Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]
This policy applies to every ad shown through StatusReach and to the pages it links to. It is part of the Advertiser Terms and the Publisher Terms.
1. Every ad is clearly an ad
- Every ad shows the advertiser's brand and an "Ad" label added by StatusReach. Nobody may remove or hide it.
- Ads may look like status content (an offer, a question, a tip), but must never pretend to be a personal recommendation or hide that they are paid.
2. Not allowed
- Gambling and betting with real money; lotteries.
- Payday loans, instant loans and other high-cost credit; "get rich quick" schemes, pyramid schemes, investment or crypto promotions promising returns.
- Alcohol and tobacco, including e-cigarettes.
- Dating and adult content; sexual products or services.
- Medicines, medical treatments, weight-loss products, supplements with health claims.
- Weapons, drugs and anything illegal in the campaign country.
- Political and election ads.
- Jobs or "earn money" offers that ask people to pay a fee.
- Anything on WhatsApp's list of prohibited commerce.
3. Honest ads
- Claims must be true and the advertiser must be able to prove them.
- Prices, discounts and conditions must be clear; the landing page must match the ad.
- No impersonating other brands or people; no use of logos or images without permission.
- No hate, harassment, violence, shocking content or content aimed at people under 18.
4. Landing pages
- Must belong to the advertiser or be authorised by it, work on mobile and show who the advertiser is.
- If they collect personal data, they must say so and link to the advertiser's privacy policy.
- No malware, automatic downloads or misleading redirects.
5. Review and action
We review every ad before it runs, with the help of artificial intelligence and, when in doubt, a person. We may reject an ad, ask for changes or stop a running campaign. We explain our decision. Publishers can report any ad they think breaks this policy, and should not post it.
